On Passion

Been thinking about next summer and how glorious it will be in the Rockaways. We are already planning improvements for both Thai Rock and Rockaway Jet Ski to provide even better and more varied services.

Lately, I have had my mind on Thai Rock’s summer music program and am getting energized about the lineup. Live music has been a big part of my life as early I can remember. My mother saw to it that her children would appreciate live performance from ballet, orchestra and theater to the simple admiration of street performances. I carry and embody her love of the arts. Now, more than at any time, I truly believe that human stability and sanity requires art and creative expressions. Imagine the last 10 months without cable or Netflix or the like. While TV has been possibly the world’s greatest pacifier, it is not a substitute for the real thing, that is live performance.

I keep in touch with many of the wonderful musicians who perform at Thai Rock and I am chomping at the bit to restart live music. I see the light at the end of this tunnel and I believe our collective responsibility is to stay safe, keep the ones around us safe and be positive.
