Music has been a part of my life from as early back as I can remember. I so loved my first turntable and the nursery rhymes and Dr. Seuss and songs like old Susanna I would play over and over. It always transported me to a special place of mental bliss, safe, happy and completely indulging.
It surprising to me that I never learned enough skill to play an instrument, and for sure my singing ability was not going to open any doors other than the exit, but throughout my life, music has been front and center.
It is a great joy to be able to present, meet, get to know and host so many fine skilled people who have made a life developing their musical talents. While I cannot make music, I do make live music available with almost 200 performances a year; in many ways, a dream, I did not know I had, come true.
Saturday night we have a top International Irish band performing, Derek Warfield and the Young Wolfetones who are responsible for preservation of the tradition of Irish ballad singing over the past 50 years. Opening the night is Rockaway's own Joseph Mugivan performing on the Ancient Harp.
This is one of the few events of the year we charge for tickets and there are some tickets still available. Please book on line and give us a call to make a table reservation for this intimate evening of Irish ballads with true masters of the art.
Thank you for supporting live music.
