On Passion - Thai Rock on TV

Tuesday will be the premier of the Thai Rock feature on the Cooking Channel's Restaurant Redemption show.  They found us by searching for restaurants that were destroyed or damaged by Hurricane Sandy and had found a way back to operations.  Their stated goal was to do a heartwarming episode, we shall find out Tuesday.

The week of filming was one of the highlights of my adult life.  We closed the restaurant for a week, and basically reflected on how we got to this point.  It was cathartic, indulgent and thoroughly enjoyable.  It really made me realize how important it is to put on the breaks every once in a while and smell the coffee.  My wife and I connected with Chef Ching, the star of the show, who is bright, thoughtful, sensitive and tough, and of course a great cook.  It was the first time, since starting Thai Rock, that I felt professionally validated and I cherish the experience the good folks from the program gave us.

However, we have no idea what the program will look like, what kind of aspects get highlighted and the majority of the filming will not make the 30 minute episode, but in any case, whether we look good or otherwise, we are all excited to see the Thai Rock episode this Tuesday night.

Please come for dinner, or just a drink as we will be broadcasting the show 10pm Jan 20.
